If you’re a team leader or even the CEO of a business, you may have noticed that your staff seem unhappy at work. Having unhappy staff at work can cause all kinds of issues. Not only will they likely get less done, the quality of the work will suffer. Then there’s a high staff turnover, bad reputation, paying to train new staff, spending time and resources interviewing, and more! If your staff seem unhappy, it’s down to you. Here’s why they seem that way:
You Don’t Do Anything to Boost Morale
Boosting morale in the office is so important. Whether it’s a positive pep talk here and there, telling people they are doing a great job, or buying them lunch on a Friday afternoon. All of these things tell your staff you care and help to boost morale.
You Need To Improve the Work Environment
If there are office disputes, or your office is a dull place, the work environment needs improving. Make sure arguments are nipped in the bud ASAP, and that your office is a place they want to come each day. Having great equipment, and even a chill out area is a good idea.
You Need To Be Consistent
Consistency is crucial. If you take an interest in your staff one week and then ignore them the next, it’s not going to look very good from their point of view. Make sure you set standards and stick to them. Your staff are so important to your business!
