Software has become an integral part of any business today. No business of any size or type can survive without leveraging technology and software to improve their operations, grow sales or provide better customer service. Majority of businesses spend significant amount on software. While it is important to spend money on software it is equally critical to ensure you are using the right software.
Software consultancy firm Software Advice did a survey of small and medium businesses to understand how they are deploying technology in their business. They have come up with interesting insight and recommendations that small and medium size businesses can use to find the right software. Eileen O’Loughlin, a market researcher for business management software consultancy Software Advice has this to say about their survey – “In our recent analysis of trends among business management software users, we found that most small and midsize businesses (SMBs) are using these tools to automate their accounting and budgeting (37 percent). A smaller percentage are managing tasks (27 percent) and inventory (25 percent). Automating these functions can help SMBs identify inefficiencies, control costs and drive profitability, so it’s not surprising that so many business owners choose to focus on these areas. Maintaining and eventually improving these operations is a pivotal step in aligning processes with business strategy. “
